Week 21
So I am on the downhill of week 21. I had my monthly doctor visit today. No sonogram, but Dr. Kimmel did listen to the heartbeat - 150! It is always so great to hear that little thump thump thump, even if I don't get to see her! She also measured my tummy, and it is 21 inches which is exactly where it needs to be. I have only gained 11 pounds, and I am QUITE pleased with that number. I really wasn't planning on gaining a ton of weight. Got my flu shot too so my 19 kiddos won't get me sick (HOPEFULLY!!). I go back on Oct. 10 for next visit, doctor only, no sonogram :(

20 weeks and counting...
Well 20 weeks has arrived! I can't believe that I am halfway through my first pregnancy!! Lila Katherine will be here before Will and I know it, and life as we know it will never be the same!
Lila survived her first hurricane. Isaac swept through the Jackson Metro area Wednesday night and all day Thursday. Will and I both got Thursday off, so we went and purchased her crib and mattress to go in her newly painted PINK room :). It is looking so good!
Since we had a long weekend, Sarah and John drove down from Louisville to see us. They made a pitstop in Memphis to see Jay and Katie. Mary also came on Saturday to see Sarah. The 3 girls made a shopping day out of it, of course!
My next appointment is Sept. 12, but no sonogram scheduled. I can't wait to see her again!

Week 17
Well this was a big week for Will and I!! Not only am I back in the swing of school (with 20 kiddos), this week was also gender sonogram week!!! Our appointment was yesterday at three. It's a GIRL!! Her heart rate was 143, head measured 3cm and she weighs 7 ounces. The lady also checked her cerebellum, kidneys, bladder, spine, umbilical cord, femur, and heart. Everything looked great!! We are super excited to finally call our nugget Lila! She may be tiny but she was flipping and kicking the whole time!! Looking forward to shopping now!!!

Back To School Time!
I have been spending most of my days at school lately, trying to get everything ready for the kiddos who will be coming in a week!! My body is not used to getting up early, so it is going to be a rude awakening tomorrow morning when I have to report back to school.
The only big news with the nugget is that I felt it move this morning!! I am not sure if it was moving around or kicking/hitting me, but I felt it! 15 weeks and 5 days!! Such an amazing feeling!

Rough 2 Days
Well I guess I will get my complaints out before I talk about the good stuff.
I signed up for a 2 day conference that my school district puts on each year back in the spring before I knew that I was pregnant. So Wednesday and today, I was up at 6, out the door at 7, and at Brandon High school for the day sitting in a very uncomfortable desk listening to guest lecturers about literacy and math. Needless to say, I didn't even make it to the end of day 1, and barely made it through today. I was sooooo tired. I truly think that it was so bad because I was sitting there and was able to think about how tired I was. Hoping school is not going to be so rough.
On a positive note, Will and I did go see Dr. Kimmel last week at 13 weeks. She used her handheld Doppler and listened to the heart beat. The little booger was beating at 158. I asked Dr. Kimmel if she thought it was a boy or a girl, but she said there is a 50/50 chance because heart rate has nothing to do with gender.
I am still leaning towards girl. Will is still leaning towards boy.
The results will be in on August 15th!!

Welcome 2nd Trimester!!
Tomorrow is the big day!!! The 2nd trimester arrives!!
This past week has been a good one! I haven't had any morning/afternoon/evening sickness! I didn't even take a Zofran for feeling especially nauseous. I have learned that I have to eat something every 2-3 hours and I am good to go!
I went and saw my parents, brother, sister-in-law, and niece over the weekend. I wanted a good visit before school started back, because I knew if I didn't then I would not see them until September when we have the joint birthday party for me, my mom, and Eliana. It felt so good to eat Mom's cooking! I had definitely missed the "soul food"!
We have our July appointment tomorrow morning at 10. No sonogram this time, just a doppler heart beat listening session, which is fine with me! I can't wait to hear my little miracle!

Week 11
I can't believe that I am almost out of my first trimester!! My days have been somewhat better, but I am still have problems finding something to eat that tastes good and leaves me feeling full and satisfied. But I keep on keeping on because I know that once this is all said and done, it will all be worth it!
I called my first day care today to be put on a waiting list. It was depressing. And expensive. I would so love for someone to come to my house and take care of the nugget or find someone that keeps children in their home. This part of the pregnancy has been the most nerve-racking.
Will and I have finally decided on a first name for a boy and a girl, Palmer and Lila. The middle names are a different story. But at least we finally have first names. I am so ready to be able to call it something other than nugget. Soon!! Soon!!
I go see Dr. Kimmel next week for a Doppler heart rate check. I am so ready to hear our little blessing again!!
