Holy cow, Lila Kate is 2 months old today - St. Patrick's Day! These have been the best 2 months at home with my angel! I can't believe it's only 2 more weeks and I'm back at school! :( no fun!
So here is our 2 month list:
- eats one tablespoon of organic rice cereal in her last bottle before bedtime, other feedings are just plain formula (3.5-4 oz)
- smiles! A lot!! I get extra big smiles when she is laying on the changing table.
- wears size 1 diapers
- can finally wear some of her smocks and feltman dresses!!! And doesn't mind the matching bonnet!
- has one pair of shoes that fit her long flat feet
- interested in Charlie and us - she watches and coos at us
- experienced her first parade! Mal's St. Paddy's parade downtown
- hair is still abundant and seems to be turning a shade of red :)
- wears anywhere from size 3 to 6 (depends on the style and brand)
- still sleeps in her bassinet beside me. She sleeps in her swaddle blanket and gets anywhere from 4-6 hours in between feedings :) yay!!

It's March! 7 weeks!!
Oh my goodness, it is March! Aagghhhhhhhh!!! That means my time at home is coming to an end!! I'm going to enjoy the last few weeks I have at home with Lila Kate. She is staying awake for longer periods of time and I can put her on her playmat and she enjoys it. I'm also letting her sleep in her swaddle suit - 5-6 hours of straight sleep!! Fabulous!!

6 weeks
Well, a big milestone this week - round 1 of shots! It was sad to see her hurt during the shots but knowing that she's being protected from harmful diseases made the hurt worth it. She was very fussy and feverish last night. Spent most of the time in my arms. But the day after shots (today) she was happy and back to herself.

Week 5
Well Lila Kate made her first road trip this week! Will and I had an adventurous moment and decided to drive to Louisville to see his parents- at 9:00pm Sunday. Yes, we drove through the night. This isn't that strange considering he and I have been reverse cycling the past 2 weeks. We spent three days on KY and road tripped back home yesterday before the winter storm hit. Not without stopping to see my parents of course. We made it to our subdivision at 9, just in time to see our entrance and street under water. There was no way the Honda was making it through the flood, so we had to call our friend Justin to come help. What a welcome home! Lila Kate had lots of eyeball time this week! I love seeing her so alert. It's like she's taking it all in. Will and I get several smiles from her during the day. He went back to work today, which was sad, but we went and visited him at lunch! Then she and I ran several errands. She is a good rider. Just looks around and then passes out. Just a few days until she has her first set if shots and then I can take her to meet my kiddos!

One month birthday!
Oh my goodness where has the past month gone!?! I can't believe that one month ago I was in the hospital and now here we are at home trying to establish a routine! I am enjoying the smiles she gives and the awake time. But I'm also still enjoying her frequent naps!

Three weeks old!!
It's been 21 days since Lila Kate came into our lives. 21 wonderful days! She has been a complete blessing! Mom left Saturday, so this has been our first week alone as a family and we have survived! She still sleeps a lot but slowly we are getting more eyeball time with her. I can tell she is gaining her weight back since starting to add formula into her diet. Still trying to get a long stretch in at night, but I know it will come. Her birth announcements came in this week so I was able to get them mailed out. Not too much has gone on this week, and I'm glad it's been laid back. It's been nice not having to wake up for a doctor's appointment.

2 weeks
I'm a few days late, but late is better than never! Lila Kate is changing so much everyday! It's amazing how much she has changed from her birth. We had our first pediatrician's visit on Thursday, her 2 week birthday. It did not go as I had anticipated. We have been working on fattening up LK since we left the hospital with her. We had managed to drop to 7.1 during her jaundice period, but then got her up to 7.4. I just knew we would be at 8 or better on Thursday. To our shock/dismay, she had dropped back down to 7.1. I was completely heart broken! She had been eating so well!! So, Dr. Welch told us that we were going to have to supplement her feedings with formula. So I'm pumping several times a day so that I can alternate bottles of breast milk and formula. Will and I weighed her using our scales and my weight and we think she is over 7.6! Yay!! So hopefully when we go back in 2 weeks for a weight check we will get a nice weight gain. Other than that, we are enjoying "eyeball" time and trying to figure out a schedule for her. She is a sleeper like I was as a baby. But I'm not complaining. It allows me time to nap and get things done around the house.
