Finally a Sonogram!

The last time Will and I saw our precious Lila Kate was at 17 weeks when we were finding out that she was a girl. We opted out of the 4d sonogram, because honestly they sort of scare me and there is not much research on their safety. And the fact that it would cost over $300, non-insurance covered. So yesterday I went got my first weekly check up and finally got a sonogram! Poor thing doesn't have much room in my belly. She is head down and face down, in the perfect position to come out, I'm just not dilated any. Oh and she weighs 6 pounds and 7 ounces!

35 weeks

I can't believe that my 35th week of pregnancy is coming to an end! Time is flying by! Christmas is next week and a few days after that I'm full term! Crazy! I went yesterday for a check up. Nothing exciting. Blood pressure was fine and heart rate was 128. Lila Kate is still moving but not as much because she's taking up too much room! I can't wait to see her little face! I know she is going to be just beautiful! Speaking of seeing her, we start weekly appointments now, and have a sonogram the day after Christmas! What a wonderful present even if its a day late! We haven't had a sono since 17 weeks when we found out her gender. So that is something for us to look forward to. No family will be here for the holidays. My parents came last weekend and Will's parents are coming sometime after the holiday to visit his grandfather in Greenville. So it's just going to be me, Will, and Charlie. And we are okay with that!

32 weeks

I had my appointment right before we left for Alabama. My tummy measured fine and Lila Kate's heart rate was 145. I can't believe I only have 8 weeks to go! Time sure is flying! I had a sweet shower on thanksgiving with Will's family. LK finally has socks! And Karen crocheted her the sweetest blanket covered in hearts! Will and I have been blessed with wonderful gifts! I have my last shower tonight in Madison. Then it will be time to finish her room.

So I went in today for my 2 week check up and the oh so lovely glucose test. I chugged that nasty orange drink in 2 minutes! And after my exam I was told that I had passed! Woo Hoo!!!! Heart rate was 141. Cervix still closed, which is good! I go back for my next check up on Nov. 7.

Week 25

Today was another appointment. I was expecting to hear her say that my next visit would include the lovely glucose test, but I was dumb founded when she informed me that I would now start seeing her every 2 weeks! Am I really that far along?? This pregnancy sure is flying! Lila Katherine had a heart rate of 153 and my tummy measure 26 cm which was normal since I'll be 26 weeks in 2 days. Lila was not fond of the Doppler wand this afternoon! She kept moving around as Dr. Kimmel was trying to count! She is going to be hard headed like her daddy!!! I asked about having another sonogram and she said that they would do one more at 36 weeks to get her weight and position. I am so ready to see her again!!!

I have been working on her room slowly. Will was such a sweetheart and painted it for me. Her bedding arrived right before my birthday and I ironed it all and hung up the wall decor. I've also been monogramming a few pieces of her wardrobe! I would monogram everything if I could!! But all in all I'm just enjoying her kicks and nudges and praying nightly for a healthy baby girl!!

Week 21

So I am on the downhill of week 21. I had my monthly doctor visit today. No sonogram, but Dr. Kimmel did listen to the heartbeat - 150! It is always so great to hear that little thump thump thump, even if I don't get to see her! She also measured my tummy, and it is 21 inches which is exactly where it needs to be. I have only gained 11 pounds, and I am QUITE pleased with that number. I really wasn't planning on gaining a ton of weight. Got my flu shot too so my 19 kiddos won't get me sick (HOPEFULLY!!). I go back on Oct. 10 for next visit, doctor only, no sonogram :(

20 weeks and counting...

Well 20 weeks has arrived! I can't believe that I am halfway through my first pregnancy!! Lila Katherine will be here before Will and I know it, and life as we know it will never be the same!

Lila survived her first hurricane. Isaac swept through the Jackson Metro area Wednesday night and all day Thursday. Will and I both got Thursday off, so we went and purchased her crib and mattress to go in her newly painted PINK room :). It is looking so good!

Since we had a long weekend, Sarah and John drove down from Louisville to see us. They made a pitstop in Memphis to see Jay and Katie. Mary also came on Saturday to see Sarah. The 3 girls made a shopping day out of it, of course!

My next appointment is Sept. 12, but no sonogram scheduled. I can't wait to see her again!

Week 17

Well this was a big week for Will and I!! Not only am I back in the swing of school (with 20 kiddos), this week was also gender sonogram week!!! Our appointment was yesterday at three. It's a GIRL!! Her heart rate was 143, head measured 3cm and she weighs 7 ounces. The lady also checked her cerebellum, kidneys, bladder, spine, umbilical cord, femur, and heart. Everything looked great!! We are super excited to finally call our nugget Lila! She may be tiny but she was flipping and kicking the whole time!! Looking forward to shopping now!!!

Back To School Time!

I have been spending most of my days at school lately, trying to get everything ready for the kiddos who will be coming in a week!! My body is not used to getting up early, so it is going to be a rude awakening tomorrow morning when I have to report back to school.

The only big news with the nugget is that I felt it move this morning!! I am not sure if it was moving around or kicking/hitting me, but I felt it! 15 weeks and 5 days!! Such an amazing feeling!

Rough 2 Days

Well I guess I will get my complaints out before I talk about the good stuff.

I signed up for a 2 day conference that my school district puts on each year back in the spring before I knew that I was pregnant. So Wednesday and today, I was up at 6, out the door at 7, and at Brandon High school for the day sitting in a very uncomfortable desk listening to guest lecturers about literacy and math. Needless to say, I didn't even make it to the end of day 1, and barely made it through today. I was sooooo tired. I truly think that it was so bad because I was sitting there and was able to think about how tired I was. Hoping school is not going to be so rough.

On a positive note, Will and I did go see Dr. Kimmel last week at 13 weeks. She used her handheld Doppler and listened to the heart beat. The little booger was beating at 158. I asked Dr. Kimmel if she thought it was a boy or a girl, but she said there is a 50/50 chance because heart rate has nothing to do with gender.

I am still leaning towards girl. Will is still leaning towards boy.

The results will be in on August 15th!!

Welcome 2nd Trimester!!

Tomorrow is the big day!!! The 2nd trimester arrives!!

This past week has been a good one! I haven't had any morning/afternoon/evening sickness! I didn't even take a Zofran for feeling especially nauseous. I have learned that I have to eat something every 2-3 hours and I am good to go!

I went and saw my parents, brother, sister-in-law, and niece over the weekend. I wanted a good visit before school started back, because I knew if I didn't then I would not see them until September when we have the joint birthday party for me, my mom, and Eliana. It felt so good to eat Mom's cooking! I had definitely missed the "soul food"!

We have our July appointment tomorrow morning at 10. No sonogram this time, just a doppler heart beat listening session, which is fine with me! I can't wait to hear my little miracle!

Week 11

I can't believe that I am almost out of my first trimester!! My days have been somewhat better, but I am still have problems finding something to eat that tastes good and leaves me feeling full and satisfied. But I keep on keeping on because I know that once this is all said and done, it will all be worth it!

I called my first day care today to be put on a waiting list. It was depressing. And expensive. I would so love for someone to come to my house and take care of the nugget or find someone that keeps children in their home. This part of the pregnancy has been the most nerve-racking.

Will and I have finally decided on a first name for a boy and a girl, Palmer and Lila. The middle names are a different story. But at least we finally have first names. I am so ready to be able to call it something other than nugget. Soon!! Soon!!

I go see Dr. Kimmel next week for a Doppler heart rate check. I am so ready to hear our little blessing again!!

9 weeks 6 days

May 19th started off like any other Saturday morning. I had to get up early so that I could make it to my part time job (MS Braves) before lunch. It was an early game. I had told Will the night before that I wanted to use the last pregnancy test that I had, even though I had this gut feeling that it was going to be negative, just like all the other ones that I had taken before. So I did my thing, went and got back in the bed for just a few more minutes. Will decided that he wanted to go check on the magic stick. I told him sure, knowing that it was going to be negative. A few seconds later, he came back to the bathroom door and made some sort of gesture with his hands. Well, I had no contacts in so I could  not make out what he was doing. He told me to go look at it. "No way!" I was thinking to myself. Sure enough - 2 LINES!! It was positive!! I turned around and looked at Will and started crying! I ran and gave him a huge hug and said "We did it!!" We both agreed that we were not going to tell anyone until I went to see Dr. Kimmel and verified the pregnancy. But, before I made it to the ballpark, I got a text from his mom that said "OMG a real grandbaby not a granddog!" and I knew then that he had told his parents. So I of course told my mom, dad, and brother. :) It was a good day.

Will left the following Monday for the beach, so he asked that I wait and go to the doctor with him. I said I would so I made my appointment for the Tuesday after Memorial Day. I joined him at the beach on Thursday for the tail-end of the trip, but it was still nice. We went for our first appointment, and the sonogram showed a gestational sac and a yolk sac, but no baby. They confirmed that I was 5 weeks 3 days pregnant and that it was normal to not be able to see the baby yet. So they booked us two weeks later for round #2. The 2nd sonogram showed a sweet little nugget that was 1.6 cm long and had a heart rate of 167. We are scheduled again to see Dr. Kimmel on July 13 but no sonogram this time, just heart beat using her Doppler system.

Due Date is January 19, but Will and I both want "it" to come in December. I am most looking forward to finding out what it is so that I can finally call it a name, and start SHOPPING!!!
